The tension ticks away in the first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s World War II adventure DUNKIRK

Writer-Director Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Interstellar) returns to the epic storytelling arena with the upcoming World War II action-adventure film DUNKIRK. The expansive story is based on true events which took place from May 27 – June 4, 1940 during World War II in which a mass evacuation of Allied soldiers from England, France and Belgium occurred while German forces were surrounding them. The first trailer quickly gets to the point, cranking up the suspense and gives a brief but effective glimpse of what we can expect when it hits theaters July 21st, 2017.

The film was shot in IMAX 65 by cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema which will undoubtedly make the thrilling adventure into an even greater visual spectacle.

DUNKIRK stars Harry Styles, James D’Arcy, Aneurin Barnard, Jack Lowden, Bobby Lockwood and Barry Keoghan with Mark Rylance, Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branaugh and Cillian Murphy.
