Earth’s Mightiest Heroes face their deadliest foe yet in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

“I was designed to save the world…”

Today film geeks were challenged to retweet #AvengersAssemble in order to see the 3rd full trailer for MARVEL’s upcoming sci-fi action epic AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON early. Well we all went crazy and after a few hours the much anticipated look at even more footage is finally here in all its glory. The movie rejoins Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, Hawkeye) a few years after events of The Avengers. In that time, they have become even closer as friends and teammates, working together to stop all threats posed by HYDRA, who were discovered to still be secretly operating within SHIELD since its inception. Now the group will face their biggest challenge yet when a dormant peacekeeping program discovered by Tony to help give the group a break from their duties, transforms into a sentient artificial intelligence bent on destroying The Avengers and the human race. ULTRON (James Spader) considers The Avengers themselves to be the main problem in a quest for true world peace. His aim is to “tear them apart from the inside” and “show them something beautiful” to him but terrifying to everyone else. Meanwhile, The Avengers also have to contend with two superhuman twins, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson), who plan to take their own kind of revenge on the group for past sins. The cast and scope of the movie is much bigger, the action even greater, the stakes higher and emotions more intense than the original. This will be the film that raises the Marvel Cinematic Universe to new heights and blows the doors off what we know as “super hero cinema”. We’re entering a new age of sci-fi moviemaking and it’s about time critics and fans alike start to recognize that these movies are actually the epitome of what makes the genre so exciting and appealing.
