PrettyMaids

Pretty Maids All In A Row (1971) Directed by Roger Vadim. Starring Rock Hudson, Angie Dickinson, Telly Savalas. (Buy from Amazon.com)

An early 70s sex comedy-coming of age-murder mystery directed by Roger Vadim (Barbarella) with a screenplay written by Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, (could it be any more eclectic?!). It first gained a resurgence in popularity thanks to Director Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds) who introduced it to a whole new generation of movie fans at his QT Film Fest in Austin, Texas. The film is now considered a cult classic. The good folks at Warner Archives have recently added it to their DVD catalog in a nice remastered edition, so if you’re a film geek who loves offbeat movies, this will make a nice stocking stuffer!

GRINDHOUSE DATABASE PAGE

and the following personal tips by Sebastian:

In July, a film hit DVD shelves that will excite both western movie fans as well as connoisseurs of fine … smoking hot… women. Hannie Caulder is an excellent (spaghetti) western that convinces through violence, a strong revenge story, decent atmosphere and exciting action. And it has Raquel Welch, what else would you ask for. Buy now from Amazon.com

But if you’re into BluRay, two discs that you absolutely have to own are The Leone Anthology BluRay box set and the upcoming Metropolis Complete Version BluRay. I was gonna say, the Grindhouse BluRay is an essential, but that’s almost something that you don’t have to mention. Also nice on BluRay: Mad Max The Road Warrior, especially if you have a hi-def audio system that will destroy your neighbor’s whiskey glass collection. The rest of the Tarantino-related BluRay glory is right here.

And last but not least, El Mariachi and Desperado are headed you way on BluRay as well, click here to check it out.

And seriously…. I almost spilled my coffee when I read about this a few months ago

Why don’t you post below what you will put under the christmas tree? We’re really curious.
