ALIEN: CONVENANT to be a super scary experience

When I went to see Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS back in 2012, I had some problems with it. That said, I still think it was a well made sci-fi thriller and I remain intrigued by the world that film takes place. I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment in the Alien prequel series. I have a feeling the movies will get better as they progress.

The follow up to Prometheus called ALIEN: COVENANT “follows the crew of a colony ship that lands on what they think is an uncharted paradise, but which is actually a dark, dangerous world whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

In a recent interview with Collider, star Michael Fassbender elaborated on what we can expect:

This Alien is going to be… I’m very excited to see it and everybody in the film was saying this is a film that we all want to see,” he shared. “It’s much scarier than Prometheus, but it’s got the same sort of scope of Prometheus. It’s kind of got more of thriller, imminent disaster feel that Alien had, so it’s kind of a beautiful meeting of both of those films. I’m really excited to see it, I think it’s gonna be super scary number one and then again with the massive scope of Prometheus… Once it starts and the ball starts rolling, it doesn’t let up. It’s really gonna bring chills to the cinema.

The action, suspense and thrills in the 2nd and 3rd half of Prometheus was the best thing about it for me. Ridley Scott knows how to pump up the adrenaline in those kinds of sequences.

ALIEN: COVENANT stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, Billy Crudup. It will be released August 4, 2017 in the US.
