Clint Eastwood takes over a town in HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER

Clint Eastwood’s 1973 Western High Plains Drifter might be what you’d get if you mixed Bad Day At Black Rock, and A Fistful of Dollars with a ghost story. In the film, a stranger (Eastwood) arrives in a small mining town called Lago where it’s apparent from the locals’ surly reactions that his presence isn’t wanted. The Stranger soon proves he’s not someone to be trifled with and because of his skills with a gun ends up being given control of the whole town. This is because a trio of outlaws are being released from prison and are intent on getting revenge on the townsfolk who are responsible for them being locked away.

I’d put this film in the top 3 of Clint’s own directed Westerns along with Outlaw Josey Wales and Unforgiven. If you’re a fan of him or Westerns in general, there’s no doubt you’ll want to pick up this hi-definition edition and add it to your library.
